Subject: JOE'S OFFICIAL BUFFALO GOO CONCERT REVIEW

Hey people.. well, if you've been on this list for a while, you're used
to reading my reviews, and I always start with a disclaimer... I'm not an
English major, so don't critique.... Well, like I told you last week
about when i went to the opening Sabres game that the Marine Midland
Arena was going to be an amazing concert, I was right.... We had a killer
time last night, which basically started with walking into a packed
Arena... Remember, it seats 19,500 comfortably ;) We had tickets for
floor admission... The opening band was the 10,000 Maniacs, can't give
you much of a review, cuz I missed them, they were background music for
our dinner... But we did make it in to see the Barenaked LAdies, Ok,
going to the show, i really wasn't much of a follower of thier band or
music, but after seeing them I got a little more interested, they had an
amazing stage show, playing thier own original music and mocking out a
lot of popular songs by other artists...like the songs, You Outta Know,
Macarina, Baby Got Back... It wasn't a bad show, the only thing was when
we got pelted by Kraft Macaroni and Cheese during If I Had A Million
Dollars... Then the main reason for living, the GOOS!!! They didn't start
til about 9:45... the lights go down, the cheering was deafening, they
opened with Naked(my personal favorite off Boy). The boys were ripping it
up.. Johnny sounded like he still had his cold, but still pulled off an
amazing show.... They played songs like Naked, LongWay Down, Eyes Wide
Open, Impersonality, Slave Girl, Disconnected, and a few others off Boy..
But the thing that made me feel more satisfied was that they played the
old stuff... a decent amount off Superstar, but still cool... In the
middle of Cuz You're Gone, they played Thousand Words, the unreleased,
unfinshed song sung by Johnny... First time I heard it live and man, that
song kicks ass.... Hopefully they release it... The floor was tight
packed near the stage, a bunch of new fans that figured that NAme was the
basic song for the Goos, all dress up and nieve were toward the front..
They were the ones that got pissed that people that were moshing, we had
to be the ones that broke it to them that the Goos don't play geezer
rock.. Needless to say they got out of the way.. Bryan and I fought our
way to the front, right in the center... Man it was hot as hell, but
hey, a killer time.. they played roughly for 2 hours and filled in the
void that I've been missing called the intimacy of a small club... It had
to be one of the largest crowds the Goos played for, and not one
dissapointed person in the building, except for the bouncers in the front
pulling the crowd riders constantly over the fence... All I coulkd say to
sum it up is the perfect band to open the new Arena... And hey again to
the people that traveled in from out of state, Anabel and Rose, 2 of the
coolest people that you could meet, and Catherine G(too bad we couldn't
find you), and whoever else made the trip... Hope you had a fun time...
But I think this review is getting too damn long, so GooBye and if you
could catch them in your hometown..........
