Goo Goo Dolls in San Antonio

Venue: A Boy Named Goo

I drove down to San Antonio yesterday with some friends to see the Goo Goo Dolls. I'd never been to the venue, and I was impressed. It was all general admission. We watched most of the show from the back. I didn't really like Pushmonkey or Imperial Drag. Poe was okay. I liked about three of their songs. Before the Nixons came on, I decided to work on obtaining a backstage pass. I was looking for the Goo Goo Dolls manager, but I found some creepy/cool roadies instead. I was able to watch most of the Nixons and all of the Goo Goo Dolls from the stage. One of my friends is proud of the fact that I get back stage at concerts without "being skanky." What an honor. The guys were fantastic. It was my fifth time seeing them. The setlist wasn't ususual, except for "Never Take The Place of Your Man." I know they played it in Buffalo, but I didn't expect to hear it anywhere else. Robby was shoeless. Some of Mike's friends from Dallas were there. One of them brought his little brother and he really got into the show. Mike gave me some drumsticks for my friends since they didn't get on the stage. All in all, it was a great night. Catherine :-)
